Board of Selectmen

Selectman Burt called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m.
Wind Turbine and North Eastham Village Center Discussions
Ms. Vanderhoef questioned when the Board would like to revisit the wind turbine and North Eastham Village Center issues as well as address items raised by the group working with the bay and pond beaches. The Board then discussed upcoming agenda items and potential additional meetings during January and February. Selectman McDonald noted that he would like to add the issue of the Housing Task Force and the Housing Trust to upcoming discussion items.
Flag Policy
Selectman Collins made a motion to approve the flag policy with corrections. The motion was seconded by Selectman Martin and so voted 5-0.
Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority Update
Ms. Vanderhoef informed the Board that the Board of Directors of the Regional Transit Authority recently voted to change service routes and increase fares, as well as hold a public hearing to accept public comment. She added that the budget deficit for the upcoming year is projected to be $1.5 million and explained the breakdown of the deficit. Ms. Vanderhoef also informed the Board that the budget cut list includes staff positions, which are scheduled to take place in February or March. She added that they are also looking at cutting custodial staff and Flex bus service during the spring as well as on Sundays. Ms. Vanderhoef informed the Board that the next meeting will be February 14, 2008.

The Board discussed and updated their list of goals.
Adjournment
Selectman Schropfer made a motion to adjourn into Executive Session at 4:15 p.m. for the purpose of litigation, and not to return to Public Session. The motion was seconded by Selectman Collins. Selectman Burt, yes; Selectman McDonald, yes; Selectman Schropfer, yes; Selectman Collins, yes; Selectman Martin, yes.
