FY’10 Tax Bills Mailed

The Town of Eastham has completed the FY’10 Triennial Revaluation to achieve full and fair cash value assessments and received final certification from the Department of Revenue. Valuations are based on real estate sales in Eastham during the year 2008. The assessed values reflect the estimated market value as of the January 1, 2009 assessment date.

The Town of Eastham mailed 6,370 real estate and 2,701 personal property tax bills for Fiscal Year 2010 on November 3, 2009. The first half payment of these bills is due by December 3, 2009. The tax bill for the second half payment will be mailed by April 1, 2010 with payment due by May 3, 2010. Taxpayers may contact the Collector’s Office at (508) 240-5900, Ext 219, if they have any questions about the payment of their FY'10 tax bill.

The tax bills are based on Eastham’s Fiscal Year 2010 tax rate of $5.51 per $1,000 of value, and a 3% Community Preservation Act (CPA) tax which replaced the Land Bank tax.

A listing of the town wide FY’10 assessed values is available for review on the Town web site at www.assessedvalues.com/index.zhtml?jurcode=86 - Printed copies of the FY’10 assessments are available at the Town Hall, Police and Fire Stations, Library, Council on Aging, Eastham Superette, Village Green, and Nauset Market. Taxpayers may contact the Assessor’s Office at (508) 240-5900, Ext 215 or 216, if they have any questions about their FY'10 value.

The deadline for filing an FY’10 abatement application with the Board of Assessors is December 3, 2009. The Application for Abatement form is available for printing from the town website at http://www.eastham-ma.gov/Public_Documents/EasthamMA_WebDocs/abatementapp.pdf or may be obtained from any Assessor’s office in the Commonwealth.
